Overview of OS X Yosemite Features and What’s New

It was quite a long journey through the preview and prototype testing programs within the public domain finally, Apple launched its new version of OS X 10.10 Yosemite. There is no doubt that, it take its first step from its cocoon with a boom. In recent times, there are two big releases by Apple. The first one is iPhone 6 and the next is OS X Yosemite. OS X 10.10 is designed to synchronise your iOS and Mac. If your Mac is very recent, then your OS X version is Mavericks and you are able to upgrade your OS X version from App store and it’s free. Now, what is really new in OS X Yosemite?

Well, if you ask me the same then, my reaction is simply astounding in terms of aestheticism. The journey not ends here. There are lots of features that will definitely attract you. Beside that, it will offer a bit fast machine than the older. But, initially you have to make sure that, is your Mac is late 2008 version or later. Otherwise, OS X 10.10 is not going to support. If you forget your Mac’s vintage then simply go to the Apple logo and choose “About this Mac”. A pop up box will appear in your window that will provide you all the necessary informations. If you are going to open an application or searching any word in dictionary or pdf file or folder through SpotLight, it will appear with a new set of dimensions, as you see in picture.

Now, what are the features that going to entertain you. Firstly, an eye candy as well as useful part of this OS X is the Dark Mode, that will enable you to view a clearer picture in a shady backdrop, when you are working at late nights. This feature is new in OS X 10.10.

Yosemite is very much integrated with ios 8 as I said earlier. You can use your iPhone, which has acquired a recent version of ios 8. For example, you can answer your call in iPhone through your Mac in speaker mode. You can also able to make call from your Mac using the Contact application. It is not end here. You can also switch your device in between your important task. There are more on this list, lets take a look.

Suppose, you are composing an important email on ios device. At the same time, you need to call someone. But, it is also very important finish your on going mail composition. If there is a Mac nearer to your iPhone, that is upgraded with OS X 10.10, you can see a special mailbox in the dock. With the mailbox you can see what you composed in mail at a time you are using your iPhone. As an ios 8 and Yosemite is designed to look each other and at the same time offer you to shift the job from one device to another.

There is an awesome Notification Center, associated with OS X Yosemite. At a glance, you can see your events of the month, as well as stock, calendar, schedule of tomorrow and weather.

Coming to “Mail Drop” option. We often send big sized files or folders through mail and we face many difficulties. Sometime, the server blocks those messages due to its size. But, there are many services that will enable you to upload the big file to a remote server. And you are sending the link, so that the recipient can download the big file.  In OS X Yosemite, you are free from such a hazard. Simply, attach the big file and send it. If you are not tech savvy, Mail Drop will let you achieve this at ease. In OS X Yosemite Mail Drop is an in build feature.
